1. Who we are

This website, simonesplayhouse.uk, is operated by SIMONE'S PLAYHOUSE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17447326, with its registered office at Flat 11 Hitara Court 30 Moat Crescent, London, United Kingdom, N3 3DG.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us by e-mail at [email protected] or by phone on +44 7488 213604.

We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect

We only collect what we need to sell and deliver toys. That is:

  • Order and delivery details — your name, e-mail address, telephone number, delivery address, town or city, postcode, and any note you add to the order.
  • Order records — the items ordered, the amounts paid, the order reference and the delivery status.
  • Correspondence — the content of e-mails or phone calls when you contact us about an order, a return, an age marking or a product specification.
  • Returns and refunds — the information you give us when cancelling an order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, including bank or card refund details processed by our payment provider.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type and the pages you viewed, collected by our hosting provider in server logs.

Payment card data. Card and bank details are entered on, and handled by, our payment service provider. We never receive, see or store full card numbers, CVV codes or bank credentials.

3. Children’s data

We sell toys to adults. We do not collect personal data about children.

The site does not ask for a child’s name, age, date of birth, photograph or any other detail about a child. We do not create profiles for children, we do not carry out behavioural analytics on minors, and our marketing is not directed at children. Age marking shown on product pages is the manufacturer’s marking for the product and is not linked to any individual child.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please e-mail [email protected] and we will delete it.

4. Purposes and legal bases

PurposeLegal basis
Taking, processing and delivering your order, and contacting you about itPerformance of a contract
Handling returns, cancellations and refundsLegal obligation and performance of a contract
Answering enquiries you send us by e-mail or phoneLegitimate interests — responding to the person who contacted us
Keeping accounting and tax records of salesLegal obligation
Keeping the website secure and available, and preventing fraudulent ordersLegitimate interests — protecting the shop and its customers
Sending marketing e-mails about new stock, where you have asked for themConsent

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether those interests are overridden by your rights, and we have concluded they are not. You can object to this processing — see section 10.

5. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the categories of recipient below, and only as far as necessary:

  • Courier and delivery companies — your name, delivery address, postcode, telephone number and e-mail address, so the parcel can be delivered and delivery notifications sent.
  • Payment service providers — they process your payment; we receive only a confirmation and a transaction reference.
  • Website hosting and e-mail providers — they store the site and our correspondence on our behalf.
  • Accountants and, where required, HM Revenue & Customs — for tax and accounting records.
  • Professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement — where we are legally required to disclose, or where we need to establish or defend legal claims.

6. International transfers

Our suppliers are normally based in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. If a provider stores data outside the UK, we make sure the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations, or by the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any additional safeguards required. You may ask us for details of the safeguards used.

7. How long we keep data

  • Order and transaction records — six years from the end of the financial year in which the order was placed, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Correspondence about an enquiry that did not lead to an order — up to 12 months.
  • Returns and refund records — six years, as part of the order record.
  • Marketing consent records — until you withdraw consent, plus a short period to evidence the withdrawal.
  • Server logs — up to 12 months.

When a retention period ends, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders and is protected by individual accounts and strong authentication. Payment data never reaches our systems. We keep our software up to date and review access rights regularly. No system is completely secure, but we take these measures seriously and will notify you and the Information Commissioner’s Office where a breach requires it.

9. Cookies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other sites. Your basket is held only in the memory of the page you have open; if you close or reload the page, it is gone. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies to keep the site secure and working. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask for your consent first and you will be able to change your mind at any time.

10. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected, or incomplete data completed.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data, where we have no continuing legal reason to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to pause our use of your data while a dispute about it is resolved.
  • Portability — receive data you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another controller.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, e-mail [email protected]. We respond within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first. Exercising your rights is free of charge.

11. Withdrawing consent

Where we rely on your consent — for example for marketing e-mails — you can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any such e-mail, or by writing to [email protected]. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it, and does not affect processing we carry out on another legal basis, such as keeping a record of a completed order.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk, by phone on 0303 123 1113, or by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

13. Age restriction

This website is intended for adults. Orders may only be placed by people aged 18 or over. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly accept orders from, or collect personal data from, anyone under 18.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our processing or the law changes. The current version is always published on this page and the date at the top shows when it was last revised. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will bring it to your attention.
